Like, Literally American

It’s been nearly six months since I moved back to Western Australia from Utah. Today I asked a friend in Salt Lake City how he was going and his response reminded me of two very important things;

One) Unless a casual Australian phrase starred in a particularly memorable moment of Crocodile Dundee, it will likely be interpreted in a literal sense by very confused Americans, and

Two) If you’re planning on travelling to Wrigley Field from the high desert to catch a Cubs game, air travel is indeed the most efficient means of modern passenger transportation.

“To Chicago?”, he asked before continuing immediately, “By plane. It’s, like, a 20 hour drive from here.”
